Short answer
Public launch coverage places manuals across quests, Ancient Circles, haunted sites, chests, and merchants. The strongest immediate search answer is a manual-by-manual route table, but every marker still needs a current-build check. Start with the PC Gamer Witchcraft manual reference, then compare the result with the in-site builds and combat ledger.
Three paths, three kinds of lookup.
Reported location leads.
These are useful launch-week leads, not copied map coordinates. The publishable record should add the manual name, region, trigger quest, phase, time cost, route length, and a screenshot or save that can be repeated on the current patch.
| Manual lead | Reported route clue | Best internal destination | State |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ravenous Flock | Pilgrimage of Power: Bear Trouble, west of Laslea | Map & locations | Reported lead |
| Cycle of Ruin | Ancient Circle in the Cursed Chasm, with other quest and vendor leads | Interactive map | Reported lead |
| Soul Reaping | Ancient Circle east of Maragir, plus secondary chest/site reports | Quest database | Reported lead |
| Swordmastery manuals | Soldiers, bandits, and fencers are the official acquisition frame | Builds & combat | Needs mapping |
Manual record template.
- Identify the manual.Record the exact player-facing name, path, effect, and whether it is a first unlock or duplicate.
- Pin the source activity.Use a named quest, Ancient Circle, chest, vendor, enemy group, or region—not only a vague map label.
- Measure the route cost.Log day/night phase, hourglass segments, travel detours, combat requirements, and any NPC prerequisite.
- Connect the marker.Link the verified record to the map, quest, NPC, and build pages so one uncertain marker does not spread everywhere.
Manuals and time planning.
Manual hunting is not a separate checklist from the story route. A detour can consume the same limited schedule as a companion quest or a Court activity. The practical guide should therefore answer both “where is it?” and “is it worth the time on this route?”
Ability manual FAQ
Where do Witchcraft manuals come from?
Launch coverage reports Ancient Circles, haunted sites, quests, chests, and merchants as sources. This site keeps the individual location as a report until the marker is reproduced in the current build.
How do you get Swordmastery manuals?
The official skills bulletin frames soldiers, bandits, and fencers as acquisition sources. A complete manual-by-manual location list still needs a retail map pass.
Should I create a new build just to collect manuals?
Not automatically. Compare the manual's effect and route cost with the quest or region you already plan to visit, then record the choice in the 30-day route.
Are all manual locations confirmed?
No. The page intentionally separates official acquisition rules, secondary launch leads, and locations that have been reproduced in a versioned save.
